The charger does not use the standard Qi fast charging standard.The charger will hold the Samsung Galaxy Fold 3, but it needs to be centered on the ring.The charger will charge the most Samsung devices if you use a Magsafe designed case or center the ring that come with it EXACTLY in the charging field of the phone. This is important because if it is off it may stick, but because it is not lined up it could heat up the internals of the phone instead of charging it. This will result in possibly overheating the phone or possible damage to the phone not covered under any warranty.Induction charging uses similar tech as induction stoves. Hence the heating up of internals if not lined up correctly.Note: there is a single ring attached to the charger. It must be removed otherwise the charger magnet will not hold. You can slide this ring if you already have one on your phone. Do not try to pull it off. This ring has an adhisive so you can attach it to any wireless chargable device.Again if you are attaching this to a case or to an non magsafe phone be sure to line up the receiving coil of the phone to the charging coil of this charger.
